When it comes to my internship, not much excites me (four hours to commute, nine hours in the gray, depressing office). Especially when it comes to food, unless I bring my own lunch, I find it a struggle to get my hands on fresh, tasty vegan options.
So when my coworker came in with a big box of something delicious, I tried not to get my hopes up. Hope for the best but expect the worst, they say. But I couldn’t help but let the eyes of my imagination conjure up images of soft, chewy goodness in the box.
To put shortly, my frown was instantly turned upside down. As you can see from the picture, I took two and enjoyed every second that these unexpected surprises thrived in my mouth.
Eating healthy can prove to be tough, especially when your sweet tooth goes crazy. It starts asking for food from the previous (darker) lifetime, like cookies and pastries full of refined sugar, undesirable animal products, and harmful chemicals.
Eating them fresh was good, but my craving was hungering for something more, something different. So I popped these bad boys in the microwave for fifteen seconds…and voila! Steamy, fruity bunches of sugary magnificence.
…and ate and ate and ate until I was stuffed. That’s the way—uh-huh, uh-huh—I like it—uh- huh, uh-huh.
